I'm building a .030 429 that has TRW flat tops and is balanced and has a set of stock valve size thunderjet heads that have been port matched and the bowls blended and a RPM intake that is gasket matched as well and will have a 850 E-85 carb, the cam is a XR280R-10 soild roller its .657/.664 lift and 242/248@.050 what I wanna know is how much HP will it make? and then I'm building a .030 460 with TRW forged light weight pistons and stock rods and its all balanced as well, then I'm putting all the 429 stuff onto the 460 like the heads, intake, cam, lifters ect, then how much more HP will it make? thanks for any input, Butterbean

My guess 525-575hp with the 429!
The 460 will make same power but at a lower rpm, but will make more torque.

thank you for your imput, being a chevy guy for 25 years I kinda know what to expect useing stock parts, but never doing a Ford I don't know how stock parts react when useing them together, I done a 427 BBC useing the same type of parts and it made about 500 hp and 450 lbs tq then it broke a rod bolt so I put together a 454 with the same compression and all the top end stuff off my 427 and it made 550 hp and 500 lbs tq so I guess the 429-460 will kinda be the same way, thanks again, Butterbean
