You mean for plugs to plug the end of the head? I've had a hard time finding a plug that's a replacement for the factory plug but I've had success in plugging them by using a smaller plug 1/2 or 7/16 I can't remember exactly and knocking it into the passage where it gets smaller a little farther into the head.

I assume your NAPA suggestion was The Mad Porter (Scotty J.) suggesting part number 219-2188. If you can't find that number, I would contact him directly. He knows his stuff.

Here is what I did the first time I encountered these. As Dave said, the hole gets smaller just inside. I probed with a 1/2" tap and it seemed the right size, so I screwed the tap into the hole. I then threaded a 1/2" bolt with a washer on it in (with a little anti-seize) and it worked fine. Those heads are sitting on the shelf now, but the bolts are still there.

You can get the plugs via schucks / kragen just cross the 219 2188 number into the clevite line.

Hi Mad porter

I have searched and searched and cannot find them listed any where on there site , I rung them today just to be told never heard of them
At a loss what to do , as the motor is now fully painted and ready to drop back in the car,
If i found a freeze plug that matched the size, could they be used or could the be tapped out and a grub srew/or bolt to put in

HELP

The passage hole is 7/16. A 1/4 pipe tap calls for a 7/16 hole. I've always done it this way so you can clean the heads in the future. If the heads are still on, you can either vacumm the holes or fire it up before installing the plugs.
