Ok...so many forums online say bla bla bla, we know about the efi 460, I have yet to find ANY that actually post any sort of factual info on what it takes to make a 93 model 460 run...what does the computer actually read, what sensors are required, and what in the factory harness is just crap???

You have found the right place if I may say so.

Start with headers and free flowing exhaust.
Low restriction air cleaner element in the oem housing.

Remove silencers AFTER engine upgrades.

Bump initial timing from 10 with spout remove to 13 or 14.

We do a 460 EFI crate engine combination that routinely makes 525 tq and 390 hp +or- 10. This combo is 50 states emissions compliant, works with OEM SD with either 26# injectors or an adjustable FPR from aeromotive.

Here is a link to our build album on FB. Feel free to check it out and use as a guide:

Do not disable EGR with out turning it off in the ecm.

All other sensors are needed. ECT, ACT, TPS, EGR position, O2, etc etc...

Thanks for the reply....however my question is, what exactly does the computer need to see for the engine to run...I'm installing this motor in an older truck and want to know what i can eliminate from the factory harness....

In order for the OEM SD system to work all sensors must be hooked up.
The ecm cam be modified with tweecer or another program to turn off EGR amd modify timing and fuel maps however the inputs I mentioned in my previous post must be used to run in closed loop.

Throttle position sensor
Air charge temp sensor
Engine coolant temp sensor
Baro sensor
O2 sensor

Profile ignition pick up located in distributor. PIP

EGR related if not disabled in the ECM.
